New Jewelry

wire bracelet
My new bracelets!!! They are made of aluminum wire that is formed and hammered making each one unique and original.

In April, I started working for a local florist, Alvin Taylor's Flowers and Gifts.....the best in Paragould, AR. I worked with the florist (Judith Taylor) making corsages  for Prom.(My next post will be about these gorgeous corsages)

Most of the bases of the corsages were basically wire bracelets. This is where the idea of my new bracelet came from.

Traveling Gypsy

Canton Flea Market 2012

Often I feel like a traveling gypsy (or as my friends would say, Hippie), wondering the countryside peddling my wares.

Throughout the year, I am a vendor at various art and craft shows. I love these shows. I get to meet so many new people and see the other vendors that have become family. It's like a mini reunion.

A lot of energy and work go into each show: i.e. making the art, designing the booth, and making sure I have everything together for the day of the show.

Once the booth set up is complete and the show starts, I can enjoy the day.

Helping at Lunch with Hank

Hank Jones

This summer, I got the privilege of helping my lil brother Hank, with the cooking for his Lunch with Hank. For the past two years, First United Methodist church in Kosciusko, Ms has had a special time for Hank to share his tasty food and his adventures at grilling contests.

Hank and our cousin Parks own Cuz's Custom Cooking. Check out their fb page. http://www.facebook.com/CuzsCustomCooking

My Dad (Dr. Henry Jones)

My Dad got to help also. My mama is always there to help but she had to go out of town so I got to help.
Me & my cheesy grin!

The food was wonderful. We had smoked chicken, turkey, pork, and all the sides. It was so good.

A-Fair on the Square

Show season has begun. Actually this is my second show of the year. But this show is extra special. My apprentice and most wonderful son ever, Garrett is helping me. He is a great sales man and artist.

Garrett usually makes wire rings but made wire people for this show. They are great. Each one has their own personality. He had a request for a custom order to make a husband and wife and made the first sale of the day.

This show was held in Hernando, Ms on May 19th. It was an extremely hot day. We stayed in a hotel the night before but still had to wake up at 4:00a.m. the morning  of the show in order in get there early enough to set up the booth. I think I wore him out. It was so nice to have him there to visit with and help. Love Ya man!

House Sitting

For the past few days, Emily (my 10 year old) and I have been house sitting for my parents while they are in Texas. Before they left, my Dad left a detailed list on how to feed all the dogs, chickens, birds, and cat. He showed me how to pick and water his garden. No problem. We got this. Their home and yard  is beautiful. Truly something you would see in a Southern Living magazine.
No, this is not an outhouse but a pump house where their well is held. Their yard has many rustic decorations they have collected throughout the years.
My parents grow the most beautiful daylilies you have ever seen. The fact that daylilies only last one day made me a bit sad at first. Here you have this gorgious flower that only lives for one day then it dies. But we can use that as a reminder of what God has given us. Each day He gives us another chance to live. A chance to have a beautiful day to celebrate life, to heal wounds, to love, to worship Him. Today is a new day. What will you choose to do with it?
